Obama signed the measure Friday night.  That’s the traditional day when the White House slips stories into the press they want to “soften.”  They don’t want lots of flack, and the weekend gives them some cover.

Two, yesterday’s CDC insane and absurd announcement that “many millions” of people in the US have Swine Flu was timed to give Obama ammunition and cover, so that his declaration of emergency would carry more weight and “truth.”  And yes, wire services carrying the Obama announcement today are quoting that “millions” lie.

People want to know whether this state of emergency will make the vaccine manadatory.  If it does, the government will drown under the infra-structure burden of trying to deal with all the sheep rushing to get their shots.  At the moment, I believe this is a “step-operation.”  The government wants to wait and see how the vaccination program proceeds, before it tries anything more drastic.

Great points Jon. I often see number misquotes in the press. I suppose it’s just more fear mongering for big Pharm. Most paying attention to this know the CDC is in the big Pharms back pocket.

The question remains… What’s the next “step” in the operation?
